People now bring blutoof Bose/Beats speakers onto public transportation. And I shit you not, I recently saw this ratchet bitch get on a train with a JBL portable speaker, big enough to need a handle. She blasted whatever the fuck is the new hood flavor these days off an iPad.
The answer is that it's monkey see, monkey do, and the goal is to be the center of attention and provoke a reaction.

i used to think it was just poorly socialized, i.e. they didn't know it was inconsiderate. i now think it's purposfully antisocial. they perceive "getting away" with antisocial behavior as being dominant, so when they bring a bluetooth speaker on the subway and no one says shit they think they're hot shit. and they're hoping someone challenges that "status." |
