I got this criminal case where there was a fight at school and a bunch of 17-18yo seniors gave handwritten statements to police. I could barely understand any of it. A lot of the words aren’t real or are written phonetically in tiktok slang. Really bizarre

my kid is almost in hs and has never been asked to write a 5 paragraph (intro/3-body/conclusion) essay, ever. they give them erb exams every year and the only area of decline over time is in the writing/language portion, he's otherwise 98/99% in math/logic/science/etc. this is at a k12 that sends ~10% to ivies/stanford/mit and 40-50% to 'T20'-type of colleges.
