I’ve similarly concluded my marriage is over. We are half separated now. Still living together but in some month long cooling off period suggested by therapist where i don’t need to pretend to check in anymore etc. That’s been relieving but also makes me feel guilty to keep wife in suspense wondering what my next move is. Need to just cleanly separate and move toward something more sustainable.
Meanwhile subordinate and I are basically a couple. After the marriage stuff is solved, the next step will be to figure how out the work stuff. One of us is going to need a new job to derisk the inevitable moment when people find out. I think it’s already going to be suspicious that we are both separating from spouses at same time, not that we will highlight that but stuff like that always comes out eventually.
I actually feel really relieved for admitting that. It’s been a bit of agony the last months being so conflicted and trying to pretend at home to keep things manageable. |
