Plus the bike route works his legs, which helped him earn that football scholarship to Auburn next fall to bang hot SEC chicks.

6:15 AM: You awake to a fresh cup of coffee, k-cups from your local CostCo average at about 8 cents a cup since Coffee producers are striving for the best deal with importers, lest they face the wrath of a 50% protective tariff. Prices are only expected to fall further after Secretary of State Buchanan negotiated a new trade deal with Columbia.

6:45 AM: You get ready to write a check for your daughter's student loan payment, but it's not needed. The competitive labor force has forced equal pay for men and women and rather than having to room with an Elliot to make rent, she controls her own financial future and makes reasonable payments for her loans. Which isn't that bad. I never bought into the Benetton idea of diversity where people of various colors and flavors and shapes and backgrounds all behave the same way and are holding hands.

But I also think that it won't be coasts-versus-heartland. It'll be more like urban areas/college towns versus exurban areas. Certain parts of the heartland will be affected by the influx of coastal people who are drawn there because of a lower COL. And they'll bring with them coastal values and tastes. Des Moines and Grand Rapids are already becoming Brooklyn.

To where would you flee? Even Trump appointed or promoted women, gays, minorities etc who were good at their jobs. He wouldn't sign off on the vision of America in the OP if it's limited to people who don't look like his family, which includes Jews, ex-spouses, and immigrants. His cabinet already includes women and minorities (and even minority women, i.e. Nikki Haley).

If the immigrants, women, gays, minorities etc. work hard, make money, and generally don't disturb the peace then there won't be any reason for the white Christian straight males to be threatened by their presence in their neighborhoods and workplaces.

What about a more inclusive definition of what it means to be American (we don't care who you are or how you define yourself as long as you have legal citizenship and obey our laws) coupled with secure borders and more economic protections for American citizens? Nationalism need not be coupled with a 50s-style whitewashing that erodes the life possibilities for large swaths of our citizens.
