If I only get insurance for liability against the other driver will my insurance rate be the same whether I own Honda civic or Porsche 911? Is it a good idea to get minimal insurance if I don't drive much?

A shitload now which makes me think the underwriters/actuaries know my Clique or Internet history.

Liability-only means all damage to your Car isn’t insured unless the other driver has coverage & is at fault. You have to get comprehensive and uninsured motorist protection now because of immigrants. If it were like 1998 in suburban Bangor Maine you could get liability only nbd

Only do liability-only if you dgaf about getting rear ended by a drunk URM and it getting totaled and also paying your own hospital bills

hospital bills beyond $10k in FL since everyone's required to have PIP

but the reality is that most people carry PIP only (if they carry insurance at all), so you have to tack on liability & UIM coverage. also, UIM can't exceed your BI liability coverage, so if you want $500k UIM, you also need $500k BI liability.

and that's how you get to $5k+ insurance for the year

What TTT jurisdiction requires comprehensive insurance? In my state, I think mandatory liability coverage includes uninsured motorist protection, but I have never heard of mandatory comprehensive insurance.

There’s no particular reason for it to vary since a Porsche vs a Suzuki do roughly the same amount of damage to other cars. But they might Profile you based on the choice of Car and it affects the premium.
