this is why Bessent is going apeshit doubling his purchases of long-dated gov’t bonds and paying above-market for them. they have to keep this up through early November, then the rug pull will happen.

The ONLY solution is to reduce government spending, which is the political third rail. That means what will happen instead is lubing the money printers and let them run undisturbed for a few weeks. Or we just default on $40T in debt.

Prices aren't going up. The value of the dollar is going down. Pretty soon, the rug pull event will happen where the US dollar is no longer the world's reserve currency. Such an event would portend really bad times.

Retard investor here, so don't put any stock in what I say, but common sense dictates that, even with inflation, equity prices can reach a point where they are overpriced even given inflation.

You can't just say "I'm going to pay 80k for this used Honda Civic (choose a non-depreciable asset for better comparison) and it will keep going up in value because of inflation." 80k is too expensive even considering inflation, so there's a huge risk people will wake up and say "this car isn't worth close to 80k" and the price will plummet.

A lot of historical stock data says that the stock market is kind of like an 80k Honda Civic now.
