Date: February 7th, 2026 11:40 PM Author: Los Feliz circa La La Land I dated a girl back in high school whose dad LOVED Chinatown (he was a successful law partner who readily admitted to being a cheerful workaholic who liked making money and couldn't think of anything he'd rather do, also a really fun guy to be drunk around for a variety of reasons because he had a sincerely jovial personality, also for some reason I remember he always had a pretty Asian-American secretary as a general rule, who always seemed really happy to work for him because he was very generous financially and had clear expectations about everything in life, not a petty tyrant at all) and once he got really excited when she and I were watching it in the living room one night - was a 180 feeling, also I'm gay now but that's another story for another day...
