It's not just t. rex that defies logic WRT weight distribution. Also, weight distribution is not the only t. rex feature that defies logic. There is also no authoritative material that explains the science used to do the kinds of interpolation done to produce these results. With human remains that's a constantly evolving field in and of itself, but I can't find any actual academics who will even touch dinosaurs. I also don't trust meteor theory when, at the time it was put forth, we didn't even know Toba was a supervolcano.

seemed like an interesting read until I read this

“In our earlier paper on the great hoax known as Evolution, we showed how bone fragments from pigs and primates were used to construct new species of hominid. In their determination to disprove the Bible and postulate a greatly inflated age for the earth, these 'scientists' were prepared to make the most outrageous claims based on nothing but their imagination, their unbounded arrogance, and their intense hatred of Christianity.”

The burden of proof is always on the party putting forth any positive claim. For that matter if this is easy enough to prove I assume someone will come along and do it. I assume many attempts have been made to convince doubting Christians for that matter. There must already be a book that lays out the evidence.

Here's another thing I'll add: ancient Mexicans spent a LOT of time studying their environment and excavating it. The article above mentions all these ancient people never finding dinosaurs, but it doesn't mention ancient Mexicans. It's possible geologic conditions were not good for preserving material in the mediterranean, and maybe the US lucked out in that a unique confluence of events caused fossils from that era to be well preserved here. However given the prevalence of dinosaur fossils found in nearby regions of North America you'd expect there to be some in Mexico, and given the level of effort and ingenuity ancient Mexicans put into their masonry, literature and art you KNOW they would have made reference to this shit if they had found it. And for that matter maybe that's what they did, except that instead of saying "holy shit these are new animals" they just thought they were bigger versions of birds and lizards they had already incorporated into their cosmology, not some separate class of animals.

Look at this example of the Mayan written lexicon. I say "example" because there was no authoritative way of writing any Mayan character or word. Just like in medeival Europe, only a privileged elite achieved the kind of literacy required to write fluent Mayan, and anyone who achieved that level of mastery displayed it by using their own individual lexicon to express themselves. So what you see here is a generic representation of common Mayan symbols, not anything that gives you a sense of the full range. Nonetheless, lots of dinosaur/fossil-looking thingies there.

I'm trying to be charitable to dinocucks. The dinosaur propagandist in that Rogan video says ancient people didn't dig up dinosaurs because they weren't interested in archaeology, but that's easy to disprove in addition to being illogical. Ancient poeples were just as curious about this stuff as anyone. They wanted to learn about the past and they were excited to learn about big animals. There's no way ancient people wouldn't have been interested as fuck in these creatures. This site says there were dinosaurs in Mexico:

https://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/dinosaurs/dinofossils/locations/Mexico.shtml

These people spend a lot of time digging up rocks:

Don't even go there. Shit is absurd. I'm looking at this as an outsider obviously, but prior to exploring any of this I was pretty familiar with human physical anthropology, and one of my favorite "human" specimens is Ardi:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ardi

Ardi isn't just dead, she got fucked up, like run over a by a bulldozer or something. So a LOT of debate has gone into reconstructing Ardi and the implications are actually quite profound IMO.

Now I'm looking at the slapdash way people have thrown together these dinosaur skeletons and I can IMMEDIATELY see less care is being taken than was taken with Ardi. The people doing it don't have anything approaching the level of training an Ardi scholar would have.

Living circus animals have to be trained and fed. These dinosaur skeletons are a one-time purchase, then you just leave them on display and charge admission to see them.

I'm not saying there weren't real "dinosaurs." I've been looking into triceratops, and it's hard for me to believe the entire thing is fraud. However a lot of these "dinosaurs" look dodgy as fuck, and the institutions mixed up in this sort of paleontology are all for-profit corporations or amateurs. The distribution and timing of fossil discoveries looks suspicious too.

The grooves on the plate are a common feature it turns out. No one is sure what they were for. Some people think they facilitate expansion/growth, others think they may have helped dissipate heat, like slotted brake rotors I guess.

Ardipithecus looks to me like the closest thing to the "missing link." It's been a few years since I really dove into all this, but this is actually the most complete Ardipithecus skeleton we have, and we got a bunch of teeth from it, which is a huge deal. In the last few years we've made really big leaps in our ability to gather data from fossilized teeth. In turns out your teeth contain a record of your diet, so now we can see what these hominins were eating over the course of their lives. You can look at the teeth of a 30 year-old and figure out what they were eating as a child, what they ate during periods when food was scarce, that type of thing.

A big difference between apes and humans right now is the ability to digest C4 plants like grasses. Gorillas can digest these plants but we can't. One of the big debates right now is whether we descend from a lineage that used to be able to digest grass. If we had that ability, the theory is we would have retained it for some time after we gained the ability to hunt and forage better for C3 plants, because during periods of scarcity we would still need to be able to eat C4 plants as a backup. But of course it's also possible we belong to some lineage that never ate grass.

Assuming the null hypothesis is definitely the place to start. However gross errors in logic here-- blue whale is largest animal ever (even bigger than biggest supposed sauropods). Just grossing up an elephant's metabolism is wrong -- an elephant with a vole's metabolism or a Greenland shark that eats like a hummingbird is absurd. Carbon dating? There are other isotopes to look at, and they are fossils of bones not bones and ridiculously old. Definitely check the evidence but the "science" here really falls short.

Yes, elephants exist, and elephants are large. However, an elephant, which is a fraction of the size of a Brontosaurus, has to eat for 18 hours every day in order to survive. However, even in ancient times, there was still only 24 hours within each 24 hour period (basic logic).

Since an elephant can't survive without eating 18 hours per day every day, and a Brontosaurus was supposedly 5 to 10 times larger than an elephant, then a brontosaurus would have to eat for around 90 to 180 hours per day. Yes, you read that right, and it's not a typo. It is logically impossible to eat for 90 hours per 24 hour day.

However, it is most probable that the few bones that have been found belonged to other animals. Thus, what you see in a museum is nothing more than an artist's rendition of what they think those dinosaurs could look like if they existed. If they put in a skeleton of a dragon, you would probably believe that too, especially if they told you in your class science book that dragons existed and could even talk English.

o, is the theory of Dinosaurs a hoax? Perhaps. Or is it true, that giant dinosaurs roamed the Earth in prehistoric days? Maybe. However, is it likely that these mega creatures called dinosaurs existed? Not based on the overwhelming scientific evidence.

The only thing that is certain is that it is impossible to know for sure, without time travel. However, should our children be taught theories as if they were fact? This we can most certainly say for a fact: absolutely not, no more than you would tell them that dragons, leprechauns, or trolls exist. In fact, based on historical evidence, it is more likely that dragons and trolls existed at some point than it is that dinosaurs ever did.
