For me it's Arctic Monkeys - AM. It's not horrible but I always thought it was kinda boring. If you look at sales and accolades and spins it's a massive commercial success. I never 'got' it and can't really explain its fame.

Do I Wanna Know was like the perfect early era Netflix credits song type of song. I never liked it but boy did it get huge.

100% agree. There are a couple stand out tunes but it's a double album and 90% of it is unlistenable. Plus Roger's effusive lyrics aren't enough to make up for the lack of musical intrigue. It's supposed to be this deeply emotional tour de force tale but it's just stupid. If it were a great drama it should have been a regular movie. If it were a great album the music should have been better. Roger knew it sucked so he called David G in to fix the tracks and write Comfortably Numb so it would be a hit. JFC The Wall has always been so overrated.

It's not really obvious what Napoleon Dynamite is making fun of other than "Losers" or what they are really trying to say by setting it in Idaho or wherever. It's a comedy movie with fewer laughs than a Trump speech in terms of actual laughs.

Second, MMT stole half the good songs from SPLHCB.

Third, Revolver is rated higher than Rubber Soul usually iirc

Revolver is cr. MMT disc 2 slaps but the first one is weird. SPLHCB is overrated but apparently it was a big deal at the time because it introduced psychcadelia to millions of people. That being said A Day in the Life might be the best John Lennon song ever. Rubber Soul is just a great pop record that will outlive us all.

it's time to admit that their last album Let It Be was kind of terrible. i mean objectively, and not just by their own standards. john lennon awkwardly and clunkily chanting a sanskrit mantra in across the universe might well be their artistic low-point.

This isn’t controversial. Also Abbey Rd was recorded after this somehow.

Rubber Soul is great but I got you here - easy to see how someone would prefer Sgt Pepper. I prefer Abbey Road also

Everything after Jackie Brown isn't as good. Even IB and KB are overrated.

There’s Pulp Fiction and then everything else. Reservoir Dogs gets bonus points for basically being part of the lore with the same outfits as Vince/Jules.

pulp fiction is cringe as hell and does not hold up at all. jb holds up and is probably his best film.

the melon collie album is mostly goofy and suffers from severe bloat, along with embarrassing lyrics. siamese dream is a lot better overall.

Melon Collie is bloated, yes. But it also contains 5 of the best 10 Pumpkins songs. Most of the rest of them are on Siamese Dream.

Mellon Collie: Tonight, Tonight; Zero; Bullet w/Butterfly Wings; Thirty-Three; 1979. Siamese Dream: Cherub Rock; Today; Disarm; Mayonaise. I mean... yeah Mellon Collie has a few too many tracks but I think it still clears Siamese Dream. Not an easy clear, but a clear.
