The statements aren't outright false, but they're framed in a way that makes them plausibly true, which is what makes this effective.
I don't have clean proof. What I have is: a conversation I overheard, a pattern of mischaracterizations, and a noticeable shift in how others now treat me. In addition to that, I know he's done this to other people in the past, all of whom cut ties with him asap.
One relationship has already been damaged as a result.
Because the conduct is indirect and reputational, confronting it publicly risks making things worse, not better.
Is there any meaningful recourse here, or is this one of those situations where the damage is real but the evidentiary standard makes it essentially unaddressable? |
