This board seems to think a normal sized American city, by virtue of its location in the Midwest, is are country. That is false.
ARE COUNTRY are small towns and "cities" of 5, 10K, even upwards of 50-100K that are isolated from major urban areas.
Also, stop fetishizing life in these places.

Half of that is right. XO needs to understand life really sucks in ARE country.
But your main point is wrong. Des Moines and similar cities are spread out and basically consists of a bunch of 10-20k people suburbs and neighborhoods. It is are country.

There are are country towns in the Mountain areas, SW, SE, everywhere.
What's frustrating is that posters seem to use are country as a foil to problems of urban life. Have a bad ride on public transportation? "MOVE TO ARE COUNTRY AND GET A TRUCK!!!"
