It's becoming apparent that humans are simply not meant to get all their sleep in one go, and that the entire 'sleep science' industry is a scam designed to make people more 'productive' at work'. Beds to make you 'comfortable', masks to block out light you need to wake up, etc etc etc. If people just laid on the floor and slept for a few hours when they were tired there would be a much lower incidence of back problems, sleep apnea, insomnia, pretty much everything but circadian disruption from artificial light (which is the most important element in adjusting your rhythm should you need to).
