not one, they all, down to the last man, think they are god's gift to industriousness and hard work but the actual jobs they do are always easy as fuck

I will give it to GP's that they tend to stay busy, but taking a few notes about a prole then looking up what medication to give them is not very hard, I have never once been to a doctor and had them disagree with my self diagnosis

how do you define "hard"? it's probably not intellectually challenging to be ceo of jp morgan but i would still never want that job because it demands being on call 24/7 and constant travel and dealing with bullshit and basically subsuming yourself in the role. on the other hand there are lots of hedge fund quants doing legitimately intellectually challenging work but not working that hard just because they're good at it. anyways there are a lot of examples breaking your rule in both directions, i just don't envy any of them which is where i agree with you.

I define hard as being difficult to do moment to moment, being on call to make a decision is not hard, the highest level partner on any given case for instance, who is making millions, is not working hard, he is just managing other people and reviewing things all day and taking a lot of bullshit calls, none of that is hard work

I have met lots of successful people. Successful people build their own success, and it may look easy to you, but then again many people are not successful.

Conversely, you can be really rich, do nothing with your life, and be a divorced shriveled up middle aged man with man boobs and nothing to show for a life of sloth, greed, and general degeneracy.

yes, most of them have built a business but that is 99% networking, they knew the right people or go to know them, that is the secret to success

I have not but there is a differnce between something being a bit of a risk and hard, it is not hard to hire somebody who has worked in fast food and not fucked up so far, franchise owners typically treat them as turn key businesses and the reason they need a dozen or more is because they don't do any work, they just take the 100k in profit each year, owner operators are very rare

My cousin does high end electrical shit. like stadium lights, corporate fiber optics, and other commercial grade stuff. probably pulls $400K-$500K in a low col area but he works hard.
