i got caught but didn't back out - i went forward and proclaimed that i was in love and had to be with this other woman, etc. but then i got sober and realized that i was still in love with GARY (who has been continuing to be intimate with gunner) in addition to the other girl (things never "faded" with her). it was awful because i was still really in love with the other girl but i had to dump her because i knew i had to get up in GARY's guts again.
it was just a really weird situation and honestly when i look back on it, it seems like a fever dream. i'm honestly amazed that i was doing all that stuff. |

If anything, he probably married his current wife because she subconsciously reminds him of his mother through the experience he had as a small child. The lizard part of his brain attracted him to his wife and the lack of his father being in his life is what is pushing him to do exactly what his father did.
He actually can break the cycle, but would rather delude himself. |
