the most optimistic scenario looks something like mass deportations of nons, massive taxation of AI and other tech companies, and most people doing low-skill, low-intensity labor with a hefty amount of wealth redistribution from the capital class to the labor class
it's really, really important that as many people as possible are deported, including those in the high-skill cohort. the best political future for the US is one in which the GOP keeps permanent power by aligning itself with big tech and nativist socialism, with massive amounts of deportations that regular people come to realize are necessary and in their own interest as laboring citizens |

Probably not enough blue collar jobs for everyone to do, and even then robotics is going to replace a significant portion of that.
There is weird hand-wringing online that people won't find purpose without the ability to be biglaw associates but I suspect the number of people who would really be despondent about that is vanishingly small, and it's probably good if they just all get depressed and self-eliminate from the gene pool. |
