The labor force participation rate was at about 63% pre-pandemic. It dropped significantly during the pandemic but has been trending upward ever since then. I guess technically it went from 62.4% in March to 62.1% now, but I'm going to say that's within the margin of error. Assuming that the very slight difference between February 2020 and now is not also rounding error, it is probably explained by people who took an early retirement when the pandemic hit. We are talking about tiny differences regardless. |
