Lmao, this dude just suspended all FCPA investigations. Wal-Mart alone spent more than $1 billion on FCPA cases over the past decade.
All those hours - POOF!

as i've been saying since he took office and started wrecking the administrative state, this is going to be an absolute disaster for biglaw.
good thing i never upgraded to a mcmansion, private schools, etc. because none of that shit interests me. we have a couple million invested and i could go drive for uber or something and be rich in 15-20 years. looks like i may have to do that now.

it'll lead to a slowdown for me. during the course of the Biden admin, the NLRB expanded the scope of the NLRB like crazy and lots of nonunion companies were getting NLRB charges. that will scale back big time.
that said, i don't think union organizing will slow down, and it might actually pick up. although the NLRB at the moment can't function because Trump fired a member and it's down to two people. the day to day stuff like investigations and trials will continue, but there's going to be a bottleneck at the top because precedential decisions can't be issued.
the bigger issue is the constitutionality of the NLRA, which SCOTUS will be taking up relatively soon. there have been a bunch of challenges to the NLRA's removal restrictions that protect NLRB members and ALJs. if SCOTUS agrees, that will be an opportunity for the NLRA to be reworked. if that happens, i could see the law being scaled way way back in a way that fucks my practice up.
i'd hate to be a young biglolyer now. i was already on a 5-7 year timeframe for stepping away from law. i should be able to stay on that and quit when i was going to anyway.
