that may have been me. i recall an article looking at players by what percentages of all rebounds in a game they pull down. and Rodman was a statistical freak. absolutely off the charts shit. and possessions per game is a core driver who wins.
back in the days of Russell and Chamberlain there were 20-25 more rebounds per game than today. shooting has gotten that much better. so to compare impact on wins you want to look at what percentage of all available rebounds a player pulls down rather than simply the total number.
so say i choose Rodman and you choose Jabbar. then i can choose Olajuwon, Chamberlain, Duncan, Jokic, etc., and neutralize your pick.
only Michael Jordan may be hard to match.
