To be fair,

There actually is a tremendous looming shortage of it that will manifest (at current rates of consumption vs. mining) within the next decade, if not sooner.

To be fair,

Oh man this was really sarcastic, which means that this information shown here (which was literally compiled straight from the USGS) is wrong, and we're actually not looking at a gobal silver shortage stemming from industrial demands outpacing mining within the next decade or so. Damn, rekt by a pumo again -- this just keeps happening constantly to me on every single issue. Why am I so gay and retarded?

Gold is a much better high value PM store for precisely that reason. I can literally smuggle $100,000 worth of gold out of the country up my ass -- and I mean, true, I could also do that with silver as well, but that's only because sticking things up my ass is basically my profession.

In 2010 I read persuasive arguments that the price of palladium had to go up because the main two sources (in Russia and South Africa) were precarious. At the time, however, anyone could acquire it cheaply and easily. It turns out that the present is not always a good predictor of the future.

A nobody couldn't acquire Palladium in volume in 2010. Silver has always been a different story.

Also because something happened to X it will also happen to Y?

The point is that plenty now does not imply plenty later.

If less silver is mined in 10 years, and if more is used in electric cars, it stands to reason it will not be as cheap and available as it is now.

There was never "plenty" of palladium. Its always been far scarcer than silver. Price has always reflected it. The price was elevated 20 years ago.

To be fair,

Let's just consider a single element of the modern consumer market for industrial silver:

Every single cell phone, tablet, computer, etc. that you see contains non-negligible amounts of silver inside of it. Do you think that will change within the next 10 years? 20 years? How much of that silver is being recycled? Will a bunch more be recycled in 10 years? 20 years?

the problem for silver right now is the premium. the premium on Kitco for Canadian silver maples is almost $8.50, which is really high.

Well the unsaid assumption if you hold silver is you also hold farmland, gold and guns+ammo. Noone is really arguing you should go all in on silver alone. I also hold crypto in addition, but I understand a substantial portion of silvermos here are against that on principle (except TBF).

To be fair,

First of all, gold and silver have two fundamentally different value propositions, retard. The vast majority of gold is used for decorative or speculative purposes (i.e., hoarding or jewelry). That use case can legitimately be captured, at least to some degree, by crypto. Reasonable minds currently differ about how much capture will occur, but gold is squarely in BTC's sights in a way that silver isn't as explained below.

By contrast, the vast majority of silver is used for practical industrial purposes. Putting "BTC" inside a cell phone instead of silver will never make the fucking phone work, and I say that as the guy who has been shilling BTC for almost a decade and also shits on silvermos who oversell the speculative future potential value of silver.

Sorry that you're a retarded faggot who apparently has strong opinions about this topic yet doesn't even realize you're actually conflating two fundamentally different types of assets, Obeezy.
