1. Trump and Musk openly siding with Russia will greatly increase Europeans' motivation to help Ukraine. There are a lot of Euros who are ambivalent towards Ukraine but almost everyone there despises Trump and Musk. This will make them dig deeper in helping Ukraine.
2. I'm glad Trump is doing this three weeks before the midterms instead of three weeks after. Support for Russia is in single digits according to most polls.
3. Starlink doesn't affect Ukraine's short range drones and most of their long-range ones either. Mainly effects the mid-range drones which are helpful but aren't what kills Russian troops trying to advance. Those use mainly fiber optic controls.
4. We'll see how politically sustainable it is for Trump and Musk to continue doing this in the face of the hatred they will get. Musk had been lobbying the EU not to create their own version of Starlink, as they are considering doing. That will fall on deaf ears now, and good luck to him selling Starlink to any EU country in the future. |

They're now saying that Trump stopped providing them early warning system info, etc. (like Ukraine lacks radar info to detect objects in their airspace) and that's why they were hit by Russian missiles last night, as if Russia hasn't already been hitting them every night for years with drones and missiles.
US and EU already came out and said that hadn't stopped sharing intel, etc. with Ukraine (oh wow, Ukraine is lying again?), so their Starlink was pulled lol

That was partially pulled for less than a day before Trump and Musk realized it was politically unsustainable to be actively aiding Russia like that. And the EU version of Starlink will start to come online next year.
The EU has a GDP many times that of Russia. They are fully capable of keeping Ukraine in the fight by themselves, and they have Russia's frozen assets to help them do it. Russia is actually paying Ukraine to make war against it.

The reason Ukraine is doing so well right now is they make a shitload of cheap, short-range drones that rely on fiber optic cables and not any US intel or Starlink. That's the reason every time a Russian soldier tries to advance he gets the shit blown out of him. That will continue whether Trump likes it or not. |
