Blood all over. He screamed he couldn't see and with the blood I was worried. Ump was a firefighter and the field (little league) call 911. Medics came in a fire engine and checked him out. I almost called it off but the head baseball mom said it won't cost anything and saves an urgent care trip.
Kid is fine but blood went everywhere and his eye took the shot directly. It's completely swollen over and should have good color tomorrow. This was at little league and they were so much better than what one of the select facilities would have been if the same thing happened. With travel ball we'd pretty much be on our own with some help from other families. So much fun. This was game 4 on the day.

Thoughts and prayers. I hope it will be something he looks back on fondly years from now.
When I was in little league, a kid took a similar own foul ball to the face and needed stitches above his eye.
