Apparently they saw our happy family pictures from the day we got to town, my SIL got a bad case of FOMO and made her husband drive down from the mid-Atlantic. They said not one word to anyone until they walked into the back yard where everyone was hanging out by the pool. Absolute chaos. I was in the kitchen and saw the whole thing through the picture windows. Went into the fridge and freezer and just doubled the recipie and added some sides, busying myself so that no one would notice that I was YOSIMITE SAM FUCKING FUMING FURIOUS about all of my plans for the week getting wrecked. They’re sit at the pool and bar and drink all day kinds of people. I’m take the boys out paddling and looking for manatees and dolphins kind of people. We all get along okay for three days tops.
