i've heard good things about naltrexone. epah's advice about aa is good. talking to former alcoholics is great. there's not one recovered alcoholic that feels worse being off the sauce. contrast that with something like heroin where life is so good on it that it seems bland in contrast. alcoholism is just a vicious cycle of feelings like shit all the time.
benzos are a bad idea. they don't even prescribe that shit to alcoholics. you need to taper and stop. talk to an addiction doctor, there are some things like naltrexone that may help. but exchanging one hyper addictive substance for another is cope. people on harder stuff try that all the time. "i'll just quit drugs with drugs!" |
