I’m starting from zero and basically sedentary other than walking the dog and running through airports.
My wife swears by StrongLifts and has used it for several months now. She was always in pretty good shape (way better than me), but now is even slimmer with a tighter butt.
I used it today and it seemed ok. But I know nothing.

Boost camp is a free app with 1,000 programs, you should download it after 16 weeks of starting strength.
Base strength.ai is a new app from Alex Bromley that uses ai to coach your progress. It may be shit but its a cool idea.
The RP hypertrophy app is a paid option to do the same thing that is very sophisticated

Barely put on weight after multiple kids, the weight training she’s been doing has mostly just added tone and tightness.
C-cup boobs that are kind of wasted on me because I’m an ass man.
Increasingly firm, round butt, which I love. She loves reverse cowgirl, I think because I am so enthusiastic about it. Wish she let me spank her more often.

day 1: bench press, incline press, flies
day 2: squat, lunge
day 3: pull ups, standing row
day 4: deadlift, farmer walk
day 5: overhead press, lat raises
day 6: arms (optional)
day 7: rest
try to add weight as often as you can
eat a lot and eat healthy, sleep a lot
There are probably a million ways to do the above better, but Im also a dumb middle aged guy and the above seems to work for me.
Best advice: Spend a thousand or so and get a squat rack, bench, bar, plates, and some dumbbells. You'll spend the same for gym membership anyway, so just spend it upfront and save the 40 minute roundtrip commute. You can do all of this at ~30m a day

Why so sure? It would be very normal for somebody lifting heavy for the first time to put on significant muscle quickly.
If your goal is to lose weight, up your protein intake and decrease everything else. Since you’re a new lifter and talking about losing weight, even in a deficit I think you’d continue to accrue meaningful muscle mass while shedding fat.
As you approach goal weight that will stop happening and you’ll need to think about the next level of training and diet to see further gains.
