I wasn't impressed by the bits and pieces that I saw on TV, and it usually doesn't take much to impress me re: eastern animation I watched one episode of "Goblin Slayer" not long ago and it was completely deranged but also frenetic and enjoyable. Also, thoughts on Spice and Wolf? The main guy (Lawrence the wholesome travelling merchant, world weary but with a heart of gold) reminds me of you, in both XO-described appearance and gorgeous (IMO) demeanor; AND thanks to this thread I just learned the show is coming back, Ho Lee Cow (great picture of the two leads):

Blood of Zeus - maybe not strictly anime, more of a Greek cartoon, but fantastic story and voice acting
Castlevania - very sexually confusing but very good
Death Note - cheesy at times but good
Berserk - best anime ever, GOAT soundtrack. Gets a tad dark near the end. |
