You don't get much luxury but they are pretty reliable. I put over 50K miles on two GM vehicles, my GF's Chevy had over 120K miles before an accident totaled it, all without any major maintenance issue. Cost of ownership of a GM vehicle is very low these days.

I drove my brand new from the factory chevy blazer for 4 years with a 160K mile extended warranty. I drove it for 161K miles before selling it.

in 4 years GM put $27K into it in repairs. i bought it for $22K.

Yeah I had a GM had to have the engine rebuilt multiple times, sensors and bearings were always going out. Window motors constantly breaking. It was a nightmare. Bought a toyota a never looked back.

Also, I'm at over 55K miles on my Dodge in 3 years with few issues.

I had a Chevy Impala for 3 years with no issues as well, and I put over 60K miles on it.

yeah. so reliable that the guy i sold my blazer to totalled it in 6 months (brakes failed).

So reliable that the chevy pickup i bought brand new stalled out 200 ft from the dealership and had to be towed back (wiring harness failure).

So reliable that the chevy pickup engine blew in a huge fireball at speed closing down an interstate highway for over 4 hours.

So reliable that GM paid more in repairs on all my GM vehicles than what it cost me to buy brand new (yay for extended warranties).

Why are you shitting on GM vehicles now though brother, they've turned the corner on their reliability issues.

my new 2010 honda insight (with extended warranty) has not had a single issue other than regular oil changes for the last two years.

never again for anything made in america, regardless of manufacturer. im sticking to japanese builds only, drop shipped from japan directly with japanese VIN numbers.

which should be all the more reason for you to realize that GM vehicles are no longer SPS, and can be highly recommended by people with newer model year vehicles.

So you've put 100K miles on that insight?

GM is going to take 30+ years to turn the corner on reliability. its not instant. the parts they replaced in my chevy were new parts and they kept breaking because they were plastic badly engineered pieces of shit.

have you even looked at a honda compared to a GM ? precision engineered metal parts vs old school crappy mexican plastic/iron unreliable shit.

ive put 85K to date on the honda.

if you can only afford the base model, then you should absolutely not get a camaro. the new, v-8 camaros are badass and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know stuff about cars. base model camaros are highly objectionable and meant for girls. get an accord, no question.
