We were waiting around in federal court today (rare that we have occasion to appear there - shitlaw boss calls it the "shark tank") and were passed in the hallway by a large group of well-known litigators from the biggest firm in town.
Shortly after they pass, boss turns to me, "You see them glory boys struttin' around in their fancy Eye-talian suits? Ha! None of that for ham-and-eggers like you and me, no sir! Heh, probably costs more to get one a them things dry cleaned than we pull down in a month, heh heh."
A few seconds later: "Hey, ain't no shame in showing up to court in a Men's Wearhouse suit. They put out a good product, they really do. And they know how to treat ya right."
After a longer pause: "Lemme tell ya kid, in another life..." His voice trailed off as he stared wistfully into the distance. |
