For nine days long they brought in great heaps of official Nautica gear, and on the morning of the tenth day with many tears they took Zeke forth, laid his dead body upon the top of the Nautica heap, and set fire to it. As morning lit the sky-stretched architecture of the regional Skadden office on the eleventh day, they again all assembled around the pyre of Zeke, the gaze of raccoons led by the eldermost creaking forth in his miniature litter and the colony of beavers bedecked in armor and various assorted other animals of the air and earth and of course his brothers of the greatbort. When they were all together they went round the circle of the assembled, each shouting a prophecy of doom -- of burned-out factories and dangerous premonitions and haunted visions of looming futures. Then, they quenched the fire with whiskey wherever it was still burning and his brothers with tears tracing down cheeks gathered his white bones and wrapped them in a soft purple cloth and placed them within a bejeweled urn, which they then buried in a grave that was covered over with a boulder. Approaching the grave on either side, the poaster who gave flowers and the secretary of Zeke each laid a flower upon its still-fresh ground, tears clouding their vision. They all then built earth over the site in a hurried manner while keeping guard on all sides lest the quotemos should attack the site before the work was done. With the earth moved, the scientists in their ranks raised their heads to the sky and fired their pistols wildly in the manner of men crazed and lost at heart, and loudly they spoke of the transit of Pluto within the heavens. With all of this done, they went back into the city, assembled in the great hall of the greatbort, and held a feast in honor of the memory of the man.
