Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White has been a very hot topic this week as the Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage criticized the movie, calling it a "f-cking backwards" depictions of dwarfs and also adding "what the f-ck are you doing man?." Since the actor took the movie to task in one of his recent interview with the WTF Podcast, Disney has released a statement about his criticism and the continued development of the movie, noting that they’re hoping to "avoid reinforcing stereotypes" and "and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community." Now, a new update on the production of the film reveals that Disney will not be using dwarfs in the film at all.

In an interview with the comedian Marc Maron sparking the intense debate and the official comment from the studio, Dinklage said, "Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast Lupita Nyong'o as Snow White. But you're still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you're doing there. It makes no sense to me. You're progressive in one way but then you're still making that f-cking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f-ck are you doing man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soap box? I guess I'm not loud enough. I don't know which studio that is, but they were so proud of it. All love and respect to the actress and all the people who thought they were doing the right thing. But I'm just like, what are you doing?"

He took a job where for the better part of a decade his character was mercilessly mocked for being a dwarf. True, his character also was smart and capable but he seems to take issue with depicting dwarves at all — Disney could have easily rewritten it to depict them well. He’s pulling up the ladder (well, stepstool) after he maed it.
