No it's not. A summary:

18-20K/month

Mortgage $3,500 - I guess this is reasonable even though it's ARE country.

utilities $500 - fine.

auto loans $2,000 - Way too high, WTF are you driving?

Other loans $1,500 - unclear what these are. probably not reasonable.

student loans $1,500 (when I'm paying them) - fine.

CC $4-8,000 - WTF? Maybe some months when you need to purchase some big item like a fridge or whatever, but consistently spending 4K+ a month on credit cards is obscene. Especially as it does not include food/alcohol.

food/alcohol $1,500 - high side but ok.

etc. $2,000 (This could be included with CC's) - What the literal fuck?

HHI 800K/yr, 4 kids. ARE country - Good thing you make a lot of money and live in a cheap area, but blowing it is dumb.

Flying, Ice Hockey, Boxing, Gym, Skiing, Travel and costs associated with that add up. Like in the last 2mo, I bought 2 IKON passes for next season which was like $1k/person x2 and then spent probably $1,200 on ski stuff for next season (a second ski jacket and some pants). Easily $5k+ on hotels in the last month, much of it prepayment for future trips.

Utilities, groceries, internet/Prime, kids activities, clothing, car expenses/insurance etc all get charged.

Own cars outright in cash.

Pay off cc balance in full every month.

Not including travel or big ticket expenditures.

Mortgage and nanny are the two major fixed monthly expenditures. Doesn't seem worthwhile breaking down the smaller cc charges as most aren't monthly. Utilities aren't that expensive in CA. We're also not extravagant so there's no gasps when it comes to, say, clothing expenditures. Most months we don't spend anything on clothes. Some months we spend less on some things, but it always seems balanced out by spending more on other things so it averages out within the same general range of 18-20k. Will say groceries are steadily going up.

A lot is in stonks which is down more than 50% of my principal. I have about 100k cash and take home about 9k/month. My lease comes up in 2 months and no clue if im gonna get kiked - im paying undermarket for my place which is already ridiculously high. I have 20k worth of musical gear I can start liquidating too.

During 2012-2018 I repaid 270k (60k of which was interest) in school loans rather than buying something appreciable because it was the “right thing to do”. In some ways, i deserve my fate

CVS/Duane Reade: $200

Restaurants: 1000

Dry Cleaners: 220

Dog Stuff: 510

Watch Band: 350

Uber/Taxi/Tolls/Gas: 600

Housewares/Amazon: 1150

Gym: 345

Entertainment & Bars: 1000

Hockey & Other Hobby expenses: 5100

Hotels: 10,000

Watch Service: 900

Single guy w/minimal friends/hobbies/etc.

I spend about $3600/mo on avg. Will maybe go on two trips/yr on top of that, so call it $48K total annual spend.

Make $150K plus small bonus.

Monthly Spend Breakdown:

--Rent + Cable/internet/BS apt fees $1875

--Weekly SOL buy $400

--Insurance/Gas/Phone/Utils/Haircut $400ish?

--$800-$1000 on food and the rare occasions I go out

Seems about right for me.

It’s hard to calculate because you have to spread out stuff like property taxes and insurance. Other than mortgage and utilities I don’t have recurring expenses. And even those fluctuate like crazy. It costs me $2k to heat one house in the depths of winter. Some months I spend $3k going out and eating and stuff (eating $140 ribeyes a few days a week adds up), some months it’s $500. Some months I buy a lot of stuff, some months I don’t.

About 10-12K/month.

2K property tax/insurance (house is paid off)

3.5K daycare

1K utilities/gardener/pool

1-1.5K other bills (gas/wife's car/cable/phones/etc)

1K market

2-3K eating out/family activities/weekend trips

1K misc (kids toys/clothing/small things we buy/etc)

Once kids go to Catholic school the monthly costs will drop 2K.

My expenses are very low considering my wife makes 25K/month and I make 500K+/month.

JFK live a little. I admit I used to be like you. I spent $22k for the entire year when I was making a lot, but once you are doing well enough, who cares.

I don't deprive myself of anything, I just don't have a high desire to spend money. If I want something I buy it/do it. Besides my regular expenses, I spend maybe 30-40K a year on 1 or 2 big trips and several small weekend overnights. Last year I spent 160K total for the whole year if you count all my vacations/expenses/etc.

1K/month for the market. Wife cooks most week nights but it's mostly chicken, eggs, fish, and veggies, which costs very little. Market expenses may be a bit higher than I put. But I really don't track that much.
