Evidently, the witness said he was gonna plead the fifth and not testify. Judge said that he had the power to hold the witness in contempt throughout the duration of EVERY CO-DEFENDANT'S trial/case.
Attorney Steel finds out and brings a motion for the Court to disclose what the conversation was about in his chambers.
Judge FLIPS HIS SHIT and asks how Attorney Steel knew about an Ex Parte conversation that took place in the Judge's chambers.
Atty Steel says, "nah, don't worry about that. You tell me what you were talking about."
Judge gets even more pissed and ORDERS Atty Steel to reveal HOW he learned about an Ex Parte conversation. Atty Steel refuses and Judge threatens to hold him in contempt and takes a recess.
Judge comes back and Atty Steel goes from saying, "I ain't telling you shit" to "Well, the state Bar Rules say that I can't reveal any information that I learned from my professional relationship"
They go back and forth for 10 more minutes before the Judge says, "Fuck it, I'm holding you in contempt"
Judge then issues an Order saying that Atty Steel has to report to jail every weekend for the next 10 weeks. |

The bigger issue for the witness is he can't be seen as a snitch or he's getting got. So he's gonna just be as obstructionist as possible. |
