Now switching topics to federal taxation. The fed funding is funding a bunch of total bullshit like Ukraine, Israel, etc. that we should reduce to $0. In reality, OP likely benefits very little from that and most fed spending.

A more comparable place to Oklahoma is Rhode Island. But all of the disadvatages that RI has are more pronounced in OK (more isolated, even less businesses there, etc.).

Not counting the 1099 taxes for social security and medicare my wife pays, our federal tax rate is like 15% - and that's not even accounting for the fact that like $35,000 is knocked off tax free for 401k/HSA/childcare funds.

I feel like that's pretty reasonable given our true HHI is like $450,000.

less FSA and childcare = $385,000

less standard deduction = $350,000

let's call it $11k in taxes on first 100k and $22k on second 100k, 36K on last $150k - so that's 69k in taxes

Less 6k in child tax credits so that's 63k -

so that's 18% before you even get into other deductions (and 14% if you're including all your non-taxable income)
