NORFOLK, Va. — A Norfolk judge has sentenced two men to decades in prison for a violent series of crimes in 2021 that ended with a woman being sexually assaulted in her own home while her son was forced to watch. A third man, who acted as a getaway driver, received a 16-year sentence.
Deandre Lamont Ward was sentenced Wednesday to 93 years in prison. Dameron Shaikeem Wright, his co-defendant, received a 73-year sentence in September 2024. Both were 22 years old at the time of sentencing. The third defendant, Zyrail Ladontay Mitchell, 23, was convicted and sentenced last year to 16 years.
