We were in a highly regulated industry and were told that we shouldn’t gatekeep by looking at traditional qualifications which might be subject to bias and privilege.
This was a Fortune 500 company. I left to go to Biglaw but the whole thing was eye opening for me. |

Virginia in context of what actually happened was a stout red-pill. TLDR, the idea was that women were interchangeable with men and an all-male military academy could integrate women without losing any important aspects of the experience, in practice, they had to nuke the school from orbit and start over or risk having to close the school.
Also, the physical difference between the average male and the average female, when tasked with similar physical tasks, is crazy. You don't realize how rarely men and women are asked to do similar physical tasks - as school, seeing it, it was crazy, like a top 5% female was basically the same as a bottom 5% men, even on things like distance running. |
