If you asked me to build a hellscape for existences cursed to occupy it, I'd have to do some gratuitous and contrived shit to come up with a system that's more terrible than what it means to be alive on a day-to-day basis on earth. Like the more of a brilliant job you do the more they bear down on you finding really harsh shit to stab you in the back with because it’s a foregone conclusion that this MUST be a dead end. It’s Pre-Ordained. And if you suck they actually try to talk themselves into thinking you don’t bc it’s inconvenient to replace you. This works for a while imo. Sometimes Decades. The only happy part is in between doing a brilliant job and getting the feedback that makes it all too apparent that they want to Calcify your poverty or invisibility to decision makers. Or, the part where you suck but nothing bad happens to you heretofore and you just feel lucky to be there. So either way basically the first 6 months or so at the job.
With all of that said, you can see why I took my ball and went home.
