It’s undeniable. Socialism is on the rise—or at least growing in popularity in the U.S.
Forty-three percent of Americans have a positive view of socialism, the highest share since Gallup began tracking the measure since 2010. The latest survey, conducted Aug. 3-24, found that socialism has gained ground over time as several market-oriented economic concepts have lost favor. It now ranks ahead of big business, which has fallen to a positive rating of 35% from a peak of 58% in 2012.
Capitalism and free enterprise are still more popular than socialism. Capitalism’s positive rating, however, has fallen to 55% from a peak of 61% in 2010 and 2012. Free enterprise is now favored at 77%, compared to its peak of 89% in 2012. Small business remains the most favored economic system at 95%, relatively unchanged in 2010.
Those figures, however, mask sharp partisan differences. Democrats view socialism much more favorably than Republicans do, and their views have become more positive over time.
This shift has come as progressives and democratic socialists have defeated establishment candidates in several key Democratic primary contests. Zohran Mamdani’s election as New York City Mayor last year marked a breakthrough for the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). In June, all three of his endorsed candidates won against establishment Democrats in congressional primaries in New York City.

He spends too much, but the US economy itself is still broadly free, other than trump's mentally retarded trade protectionism. US is more free market than India, and definitely more than China.

its amazing its not higher given the entire education system is 99% socialist indoctrination. i cant even remember learning any thing abt capitalism and 99% of the teachers are all shitlibs. these morons dont even study socialism in other countries last 100 years, theres literally not a single case where it worked well, every country from russia to EE to china and viet and india that transitoned from a highly socialist to more open free market economy had 10x+ faster growth rates and level of development
so there really shldnt even be a question at this point but ppl are so braindead and brainwashed
interesting, i come from a pretty shitlib area but they pushed capitalism in my schools growing up. aren't you from NorCal or some shit? that's not the norm.

it actually had a GOP congressman in my time and this was during cold war partially but i dont remember them every discussing capitalism at all. tbf they werent overtly discussing socialism or communism as good but all the teachers were mostly feminazi cunts and living off govt paychecks with teachers unions protecting them so i doubt they even had a functional understanding of capitalism, these types all think money just grows on trees, esp dumbfurk god damn bitch women
they realyl shld have mandatory capitalism classes from grade 5 or something

My teachers growing up were all feminazi cunt birdshit ladies, and were shitlib. But they still were openly very pro free-market. They would definitely express views in favor of paying teachers more and in favor of unions and some expansion of welfare state, but in philosophical and historical discussions of free market they were always still hardcore in favor of it and taught how communism and socialism were bad. Not sure how it is in 2026.

wow double the price of housing, triple the price of education, and then cut jobs for the youth while the stock market and US wealth is at all time highs... who knew that would encourage the idea that maybe the govt should be involved in making sure the wealth was being shared among all of society.
