Best Ways to Carry Out a Death Sentence

It seems to me that putting motherfuckers in a transparent cylinder about a hundred feet tall, with a 10 ton, perfectly fitted metal cap that can be loosed to fall down the shaft of the cylinder and onto the head or prone body of the perpetrator, would be cheap, safe, effective, and impossible to fuck up
The same would be true about just blowing them up with a bunch of C4 or other explosive
Putting aside gratuitous pain and suffering, what would be the best method to carry out executions? |

Probably true that someone wouldn't miss. But why take that chance? And why risk giving the firing squad a route to disability pay from PTSD or some shit? |

Hard to believe we got it maximally right all those years ago. The "massive dose of fentanyl" idea below is a pretty good one, though I don't like things that could be faked/substituted easily
I'm partial towards essentially instant, guaranteed unsurvivable, impossible to fuck up, easily verifiable as complete solutions |
