They are cheap, but more importantly, VERY easy to convert to automatic. In fact, it's hard to convert an open bolt to semi, and the importers didn't try hard.
So my guess is that it was an inexpensive source for full-auto SMGs. They shoot like shit and closed bolt is way better. |
