You know what I like best about this article? I like that it actually manages to clear the mystical "fog of war" that has been oddly obscuring any visibility into what's actually going on on the Ukrainian side of the equation and provide some estimated numbers (with citations) for Ukrainian losses, and it's not just some random Twitter using poasting a grainy video or repeating some totally unsourced rumors that they heard third hand.

The Russians are KILLING ~1k per day now. There are slow days when its ONLY 500 days and hot days when its 4000 per day but they are CONSERVATIVELY wiping out basically 1 effective combat brigade per day. 1k KIA and 3k wounded.

Russian losses are MAYBE 200 per day dead and ineffective and of these half are DNR and LNR people who the Russians are happy to sacrifice.

The Russians are happy to keep trading at these rate because in ~5 years there are just not going to be any Ukrainian men capable of fighting.

This is exactly how they won in Chechnya and in Syria too. They simply destroy an entire generation of fighting age men. They are doing it again in Ukraine.

They dont need to take massive territory to do this. They still have 1/3 of Syria in US control but that doesnt matter because a rump Ukraine that is costing Europe $30 billion a month to support is even better than a fully Russian Ukraine.
