This sounds like cover for a capitulation. Oman has already said they won't charge a toll, so who in their right mind would exit the Strait on the Iranian side?
This whole "we continue to control our part of the Strait" just looks like a fig leaf so they can say they didn't capitulate when they did. |

I doubt they would be going back to Pakistan for a second round of negotiations if Iran hadn't agreed to that, in exchange for sanctions being lifted. So I don't think Israel would start bombing again unilaterally, especially since they are trying to develop close ties with the Gulf states, who would be devastated by any resumption of bombing. |

Whatever the case, it's hard to believe that Iran would put much stock into promises or future events when the promising party has regularly engaged in bad faith negotiations. I don't think they're stupid, but if they are and do that, they will deserve what they eventually get
The sad thing is, we're more likely to have peace in the region when/if there is a nuclear counterbalance to Israel. I'm sure the need for nukes is not escaping anyone right now |
