My 401k is up 23% over past year, 7% YTD. Is that good?

Unfortunately that's most of the savings I have, as I spend recklessly and don't invest in shit. Technically I have $70K in my bank account because my job ended last week and I got a decent bonus, but that's the most I've had in my bank account ever, and when I was employed, I was spending about $8-10K a month. 😬😬 |

They don't miss. Maybe if you're feeling greedy they might have a more aggressive trading strategy you could switch to. Maybe go from low risk to moderate. You're long on equities, short on the market (small percentage), and you have bonds that mitigate risk. This strategy captures the 'beta' of your equities which means it captures the growth of stocks independent of market volatility, i.e., it says you're confident that the companies you're invested in will come up with new ways to make money that don't have to do with the overall economy growing (such as growing population and macroeconomic trends).
I invite you to get a second opinion on this because I can't rubber stamp what I'm saying with a high degree of confidence, so compare notes with someone else before taking any action. |
