Wife disputes Norfolk police report on husband’s fatal shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Reginald Pryor, known as rapper BS3Whiteboy, was killed on Granby Street early Sunday morning. His wife, Keara Poole, who was with him at the time, disputes the Norfolk Police Department’s report that an altercation preceded the shooting. She spoke exclusively with WAVY News 10’s Regina Mobley Tuesday.

Keara Poole was with her husband July 4, their last night together after having married just one month prior. The Norfolk Police Department publicly stated that the shooting happened after Pryor had been involved in an argument with a group of acquaintances in a nearby parking lot. Poole denies this account, stating that no confrontation took place before the gunshots.

She expressed her frustration with conflicting reports.

“When I seen on the internet that they said that there was an altercation, it kind of upset me. …There was no altercation,” Poole said.

WAVY reached out to Norfolk Police on Tuesday for information on the report of an altercation and the wife’s contradiction. The Police Department is standing by its original statement to the public. A spokesperson, Joy Lipieko, sent this statement:

“Detectives determined the shooting happened after Pryor had been involved in a verbal altercation with acquaintances in a nearby parking lot located in the 400 block of Granby Street, Lipieko said.

Keara Poole, who operates a business named Teddi Hugs and Luv, said they were celebrating the holiday that night.

“We was just trying to enjoy the 4th of July. Walking along, walking along arm-in-arm,” Poole said.

Poole founded the business, which offers comfort to those who have lost loved ones, after experiencing profound personal loss.

“Both my brothers were killed. [In] 2015, my younger brother was killed. In 2019, my oldest brother was killed,” Poole said.

When asked if she would continue her business, Poole said she was unsure at this time.

“And I’m not sure [about] that question just yet,” Poole said. “I will try to continue my business. However I can when the time is right. But at this time, it’s very hard for me, very hard for me.”
