Date: March 24th, 2026 7:36 PM Author: ,.,..,.,..,.,.,.,..,.,.,,..,..,.,,..,.,,. going back to 2016, that was one of the major goals of the entire program. younger men (especially white ones) were becoming more alienated from the whole idea of 'america,' and MAGA was designed to bring them back into the fold. steve bannon in particular wanted to gradually de-racialize them by easing them into a cross-racial coalition structured around some kind of MAGA populism.
that largely failed, which may be part of why MAGA's political and social capital is being burned up on iran right now. the system is discarding MAGA as a viable pathway to induce young white guys to enthusiastically rejoin the american 'project,' and so, it is being scrapped for parts. |

there are a lot of good people in the trump 2.0 administration but they are shut out from any actual power. the machine just keeps on rolling
the few things that they've been able to do are basically just putting monkey wrenches in the system to try to slow it down: limited rollbacks of DEI, limited deportations, limited restriction of immigration
they can't create any *new* policy, which is what it would take to get white guys back into the system |

Date: March 24th, 2026 8:16 PM Author: ,.,..,.,..,.,.,.,..,.,.,,..,..,.,,..,.,,. nibbling at the margins was never going to work. from what i understand, trump hasn't even shut down basic DEI programs like race/gender-based small business loans. the whole idea of 'working within the system' or 'infiltration' requires that the infiltrators have a plan to use their positions as catapults toward larger goals.
the infiltrators within MAGA clearly don't have the coordination or the planning to do this, which means they mostly just got neutered. retrospectively, their most significant impact longer-term will be acting as useful idiot functionaries who kept the system moving along as it prepared to attack iran. |

we were never going to "reform" the system, regardless. it just can't be done. it's good to try to slow it down/dismantle it as much as possible, but "american" society was never going to be salvaged. something New must be built |
