I used to wake up thrashing around and gasping for air. Was tired all the time. Just sluggish fatigue day after day, memory loss, etc. Had to drink heavily to stay asleep, drink to work effectively for the boost. One night I spent the night out with a hinge date and kind of “karate jabbed” her in the eye during a gasping episode and bruised her pretty bad. Signed up for a sleep study a few weeks later and have a cpap now. Feel 10 years younger

Yes, and yes.

I used to wake up feeling like shit every morning for years. I started snoring and my wife bitched about it and my doctor told me to get a sleep test, AHI 12. The Sleep doc was like here try this machine and I was like what the fuck is this bullshit? There’s no way I’m using this goddamn thing. Not fat. And then the first night I tried it I was like holy shit that’s amazing, have used it every night since.

ENT doc wanted to do surgery because he said I had some sinus issues and deviated septum that were causing the sleep issues, but my sleep doctor said that’s bullshit just use the machine.

There are other options like mouth piece, inspire, meds, but basically if you try CPAP it’s 100% better than anything else. The key is do NOT use a full face mask. Nasal pillows or nasal only. Then tape your mouth shut. The full face masks are an atrocity and horrible. And turn the min pressure up higher than they initially set it, like 8-20 or 10-20.

You can buy one on Craigslist for like $200 and try it if you don’t want to be diagnosed w sleep apnea. Old people get them app the time and die without using them then the relatives sell them.

Yes to both. I livepoasted here about my sleep study when I was getting hooked up to the machines before going to sleep when I did it in 2021. Getting proper pressure setting etc was a bitch though. Newer machine now. Higher settings. Doing well.

My wife made me do a sleep study and it said I have mild sleep apnea at 8.2 apneas per hour and 27% snoring time. Doctor said to lose 10 pounds and not do anything else so I gained 15 more pounds and now feel like shit. I just spent 6 months working a big deal that failed miserably and will now be exercising and phoning it in at work for the next 6 to fix all this. But my snoring is so bad my wife makes me sleep in a different wing of the house.

I have moderate sleep apnea but do NOT use CPAP. Instead, I have a dental device that moves my lower jaw forward while I sleep. It stopped my snoring and I don't have to wear a mask or anything. The difference is incredible; I'd highly suggest it.
