My state has high prop taxes so I always litter in my neighborhood and will knock over garbage/recycling cans routinely to keep it looking 'dirty'. In the winter people will drive out on the lake and set up these portable ice fishing tents all over the place. Locally, it's kind of a brag to live on my lake, but anyone who lives on real lakes would laugh their asses off at our pretend lake.
