I liquidated my ~$70k holdings (down from >$130k ATH) at a slight loss more than a month ago, and I'm glad I did it and haven't thought twice about it. This tech is 8-9 years old, and so far there are basically zero real-world use cases that matter (i.e., that could be scaled to even approximate a ~1T market cap). Blockchain tech itself may have a future, but "cryptocurrencies" will remain niche and die a slow death. The real difference between now and a year ago is that they have now had their moment in the "mainstream sun," a lot of idiots got badly burned, and as a result the speculative run up won't repeat itself again on the scale that we just saw. For all intents and purposes, this show is over. And before you saw "b-b-but my institutional investor money!" realize that the market needs to hit ~1T *before* it will really become attractive to institutional investors. And in order to hit ~1T, you'll need a lot of new money coming in from average joes looking to speculate. But see above for why there's no good reason to think that will happen again at this point.
