On what basis? Bittrex purposely avoids holding ico issued coins presumably to avoid the SEC (since those coins are considered securities)
Also let me say for the 100th time that no one outside of this world gives a fuck about the trials and tribulations of dogecoin holders. Compare the size and real world relevance of the cash and derivatives markets regulated by the cftc and sec to this nonsense. They have much much bigger and important fish to fry. I swear every crypto person genuinely sounds like they’re at the cutting edge of global financial markets instead of an obscure corner of the internet.

On what basis? Any basis they want, as long as it colorably within the purview of their subpoena power. You don't seem to understand how federal agencies work, or the type of people that show up to wagecuck within their walls everyday. I have to lol at the notion that the SEC would not take interest in a 750 billion market that looks eerily similar to the trading of securities. Go look at their enforcement actions. They fry small fish ALL the time.
Career government attorneys, especially the SEC/DOJ want to make a name for themselves and be on new "cutting edge" cases. These agencies exist to regulate, and routinely skirt the edges on what/who they have authority over.
As I said, the only real question is whether this administration will allow enforcement. It is silly to think federal agencies aren't interested in a buckwild burgeoning market that is expanding by over a billion dollars a day.

What happens to your balances on an exchange that gets shut down?
Let's pray that Trump tells the SEC to "slide and let do."
