One thing that has surprised me- while Germans acknowledge their country is very well run, efficient, etc a lot of them want to leave and those who plan to stay tend to feel pretty meh about life there.
They tend to think it's kind of cold and soul-less, and those I've talked to who have left have overwhelmingly chosen non-wealthy destinations like Central America, Malta, Thailand, Indonesia, etc. Basically none want to go to the US. |
