People should be diversifying as their percentage of crypto assets increases as a portion of their net worth, but many are probably not because ‘where else are you going to get returns like these?’ The other point is an obvious one. What is the point of accumulating more and more? When is enough enough? What if you just put your time and resources into your own life and your experiences and your relationships instead of focusing on acquiring more and more? Imagine what that shift in focus could do for you. |

Millennials have been conditioned to it from an early age, growing up in a low interest rate environment has robbed an entire generation of traditional finance concepts. First it was the explosion of VC and PE that displaced what were often the most traditional and profitable phases of market price discovery (nascent and early growth stages of companies) for investors, with mature companies IPO’ing later and later on in their life cycles.
However as with any market and bubble cycle, once a huge crash happens the actual use case and value generating applications emerge, but only after a huge number of people see their wealth destroyed and confidence deeply eroded.
I think finding the time to invest in areas where blockchain and crypto can produce viable products and services represents a huge opportunity going forward - but right now I’m getting more worried about the social issues starting to emerge. That said, the government and the Fed have not made it any easier and really enabled this behavior thorough their negligence and lack of capacity to understand let alone regulate this emerging technology. |
