But we have a maid twice a month and my wife and I each clean TOGETHER for 10 minutes after bed time. Doing this TOGETHER is extremely important so that you don't build resentments. So the house is at least tidy when we sit down on the couch and in the morning. The more focused you stay on getting the kids ready in the morning, the less the house will get trashed. |

2 years later: entire living room filled with toys and kid furniture and gated off on both ends, giant stools that apparently permanently live in the hallway off the kitchen for ease of use in the kitchen, secondary diaper changing station set up in the master bedroom, giant stroller permanently parked by the front door.
To the extent you continue to care at all about your home’s cleanliness you need to have a dedicated chore time at the end of the day where you both clean up. |
